Michael D. Clark

michael-clark-2UK drummer and percussionist Michael D Clark is best known for his versatility, energy and sensitive ensemble playing. Since graduating with First Class Honours from the Royal Northern College of Music, he regularly works with many orchestras and ensembles including BBC Scottish Symphony Orchestra, Raymond Gubbay Ltd, and Scottish Opera. He has also worked with numerous artists such as Travis, Andrea Bocelli, and Belle and Sebastian.

Michael’s theatre credits include productions of Les Miserables, the Sound of Music and a North-West tour of Annie. Most recently Michael held the drumkit chair in the off West-End production of Oliver! at St Giles and is a regular deputy on the Keep Dancing UK Tour.

With a keen interest in chamber music, Michael has played with many ensembles at various venues and festivals including the Edinburgh International Festival, Cheltenham Music Festival, and Buxton Festival. He had the pleasure of performing in the European premier of John Luther Adams’ ‘Inuksuit’ for percussion ensemble along side such players as Steve Schick and Heather Corbett. Michael is also a founding member of the Tartan Trio Ceilidh Band.
