Nick Roels
From the small city of Redmond, Washington, Nick Roels has played with countless bands, jazz ensembles, wind symphonies, and symphony orchestras from across the world, at the young age of 18. Currently in his first second at Gonzaga University, Nick Roels started playing drums when he was 13, when he wanted to join his middle school’s jazz ensemble. After learning from countless percussionists and jazz drummers, Nick Roels has evolved into a jazz, rock, pop, and funk drummer who is starting to make a name for himself. In addition to drumming, Nick also composes and arranges music for jazz combos, big band, wind symphony, pep band, and marching band. While growing an everlasting resume, and making friends with some of the greats (Peter Erskine, Jeff Hamilton, Gordon Goodwin, Sean Billings, etc.), Nick is hoping to pursue his Masters in Film Composition and Jazz Studies, and continue towards his goals as a drummer and composer.
“The DrumDial is the one tool that every drummer needs to have in their gig bag. The precision that the DrumDial Drum Tuner presents is like none other, and you’re always able to get the exact sound that you want out of the drum, with each bearing perfectly in tune with the other. You’re never going to want to tune a drum by ear ever again.”
