Jesse “Jay” Moody was born and raised in Baltimore, MD. He has been playing professionally for over 30 years. He received his musical training at Towson State University where he performed with the gospel and jazz ensembles.
Jesse has recorded with many artists, including releasing his own album, Notes From the Family in 2017. He has performed with artists, Maysa Leake, Eddie Levert, Benito Gonzalez, Cyrus Chestnut, Dionne Warwick, Lou Donaldson, Dontae Winslow and many others. He also had a part in the 1990 Barry Levinson film, Avalon. He performs annually at the Black Engineer of the Year awards show and the Congressional Black Caucus Awards show in DC. Jesse had the honor of sharing the stage with President Barack Obama at the Congressional Black Caucus in 2015.
Jesse is currently endorsed by T-Cymbals and the Baltimore Drum Company.
