Maren Alford is the drummer for the all-girl power trio Not Ur Girlfrenz – the youngest touring band in the history of the renowned Vans Warped Tour – who Warped Tour founder Kevin Lyman declared “the future of women in rock – or rock in general.” The band was also named one of “12 Bands You Need to Know” by Alternative Press magazine, touring both the U.S. and U.K. with pop punk icons Bowling for Soup and picking up a sponsorship from Vans shoe and apparel company along the way.
When not performing with the band, Maren produces drum cover videos of some of her favorite songs and artists for her YouTube channel and was a recent viral internet sensation with her cover of Slipknot’s “Unsainted”. Maren has also had a drum cover commissioned by U.K.’s KERRANG! magazine, (Avenged Sevenfold’s “Nightmare”), has published blogs about her drumming and tour life, and has been featured in DRUM! Magazine’s “Woman Crush Wednesday” feature.
