Scotty Horey is a passionate and versatile percussionist, drummer, and teacher based in the twin cities primary working in the educational world. He performs locally, nationally and internationally as a solo percussion artist, a percussionist/drummer for hire, and is a drums/percussion teacher of all levels: children, teen, college level, and adult. His strongest passions in music and teaching include classical music, contemporary-classical music, progressive rock/fusion, solo marimba, public clinics, mentor-ship. and cross cultural understanding. His passionate performing and teaching work has brought him through the USA, Brazil, Argentina, Chile, Costa Rica, Portugal, Denmark, Poland, and Greece and has earned him a finalist position in the prestigious McKnight Fellowship for Performing Musicians in 2017. Scotty was called “the Twin Cities’ hungriest young percussionist” by New Music Box, and is an endorsed artist for MAPEX drums, VIC FIRTH sticks, SABIAN cymbals, and MAJESTIC percussion.
